Dr. Charles T King
Charles T. King, M.D., F.A.C.S.Raised in New Jersey.
Dr. Charles T. King graduated cum laude from Cornell University in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biochemistry. He completed four years of medical school at the University of Florida in 1979, followed by a surgical internship and urology residency at the University of Kentucky.
After serving four years as a urologist in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps, Dr. King and his family returned to north central Florida. He has practiced in Ocala since 1989, serving as Chief of Surgery at the Ocala Regional Medical Center, and on the Munroe Regional Medical Center Board of Directors from 1997 to 2001.
Dr. King is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Jeffrey Thill, Board Certified Urologist
Dr. Jeffrey Thill received his BA from McPherson College in 1984 then completed his MD degree at the University of Iowa in 1988. He moved to Florida for urology training at Shands Hospital.
Dr. Thill began practicing with Winter Park Urology Associates in 1993. During his tenure, he focused on kidney transplantation, laparoscopy, and robotics surgery, and general urology practice. He was president of the group from 2009-2011. Dr. Thill remained with WPUA under the AdventHealth umbrella. In 2017 he joined Orlando Health with practices in Orange and Lake Counties.
Dr. Thill is licensed by the state of Florida and is board certified by the American Board of Urology. Dr. Thill is an office-based urologist. He no longer admits patients to the hospital nor does he perform hospital-based consultations or procedures.
Emily Perry Hartlein, APRN
Emily Perry Hartlein is originally from New York and raised in New Jersey where her career started as a registered nurse in 1994. She has lived all over the United States and getting various experiences in her nursing career including pharmacy technician, emergency nursing, pediatrics, critical care transport, prehospital care, nursing education, family practice and urology. She has over 22 years of experience in nursing also including being a flight nurse from 2005 to 2007, where she attained the advanced skills in pre-hospital care. She has also served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman and U.S. Army as a nurse.
Emily has taught nursing core and general education classes for both LPN and RN nursing students and served as the Nursing Program Director in a local private college. She earned her degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner/ARNP in 2014 and now works as an ARNP in both a urology setting and an urgent care. In her free time, she enjoys being involved with her children, and their activities and traveling with her husband and children.
John A. Somers, APRN
John A. Somers, APRN is a Nurse Practitioner currently practicing with Urology Institute of Central Florida in Ocala, FL. His education includes: University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida (Master of Science in Nursing) and University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL (Bachelor of Science in Nursing). John has experienced various experiences in his nursing career including family practice, neurology, and behavioral health. He currently is focusing on his specialty of Urology and his joy of teaching and learning.
Erin Zimmer, APRN
Erin is originally from Saskatchewan, Canada. She graduated from The University of Alberta in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After 4 years of acute care nursing in Canada, Erin became a travel nurse in the U.S.A. For the next 11 years she worked at a variety of different hospitals in several states. In 2011 Erin graduated from Graceland University with a Master of Science in Nursing and became a board certified family nurse practitioner. Erin practiced at a primary care office in Ocala, Florida for 7 years before joining the urology team in 2019..
Rosemary Gavan, APRN
Rosemary has extensive experience providing excellent medical care. In 1982, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Central Florida. While working in internal medicine, she obtained her master’s in nursing from the University of Florida, proudly graduating summa cum laude in 1997.
Rosemary’s experience ranges from internal medicine to acute care clinics. Over the last decade, she has specialized in urology, with time spent in both the clinic and hospital settings.
As a contributing employee previously with Florida Urology and Orlando Health Urology, Rosemary is excited to bring the same level of exceptional patient care to the Urology Institute of Central Florida. As a lifelong learner, Rosemary is an active member of SUNA (Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates), and the AUA (American Urologic Association).
Outside of the office, Rosemary can be found on the tennis courts, hiking, fishing, or spending time with her family and friends.
